About
The Wake Accounting Society (WAS) is a student-led organization dedicated to supporting undergraduate students in exploring and learning about the accounting profession. Through interactions with practitioners, faculty, and peers, members gain valuable insights and a deeper understanding of the field. The society's policies and programs are guided by a faculty advisor from the accounting program, ensuring they align with both academic and professional standards.
Mission Statement
The mission of the WAS is to provide our members with experiences that promote their understanding of the study and practice of the various professional specialty fields within accounting by connecting students, faculty and practitioners. We provide opportunities for our members to develop academically, personally, and professionally. The experiences we provide our members enhance their ability to contribute as effective business leaders who serve their organization and profession with character and ethics. We strive for continuous improvement and to provide our members with a lifelong professional network consisting of current and former accounting students.
